This genuine US military issue has useful added features that set it apart from other field jackets. There is a hideaway hood that easily zips into the collar, extra pockets for holding your gear, adjustable sleeves with Velcro straps, and stylish shoulder epaulets. The M65 field jacket shielded soldiers from the elements throughout the Vietnam War and beyond. Due to the introduction of the ECWCS layering system, it was recently phased out.

These jackets are used and may contain various other patches and insignia including or other than the "US ARMY" tab, such as rank and unit tabs. These are used in very good condition with no rips, tears, or holes.

The M-65 Field Jacket was introduced into U.S. military service in 1965 to replace the M-1951 field jacket. It was widely used by the United States troops during the Vietnam War in which the jacket became useful for troops serving in the central highlands of South Vietnam. The front of the jacket has two large hip pockets and two chest pockets. The collar of the jacket features a stowaway hood so you can be prepared if the weather takes a turn for the worst. The jacket can be combined with a button insulated lining for cold weather wear.

Vietnam

My uncle served in Vietnam, and when he came back, he gave me his field jacket. I wore that jacket until it could no longer be worn.
The jacket I ordered was supposed to be a medium short, I got a medium long. I also don’t know how to get the hood back into the collar which is not a major issue, I would’ve liked it to be rolled in the collar. However, it is a 1968 official field jacket, which means lieutenant D. Dickens whose name is inside the collar served in Vietnam at that time. For that, I will wear this jacket with pride and be most thankful for his service. Just like my uncle Bob Watkins.
