Vintage "Salt & Pepper" Swiss Utility Bag

These Vintage crossbody Swiss military gas mask bags or shoulder messenger bags were initially designed for the Swiss Army soldiers in the 1960s; their original use was to carry a gas mask. They are made with 100% "salt & pepper" canvas; this material was created in Switzerland during WWII from plant fibers mixed with cotton strands due to rationing; since then, the "salt & pepper" canvas has become synonymous with swiss gear. These versatile bags feature an adjustable and removable canvas strap and can be used as a crossbody bag or a shoulder bag.
