These boots are the size 9EE. I needed to send the first pair back because they didn't have enough room for aftermarket insoles. If you are used to the bouncing soles of Dr Marten you will defintely need insoles. But since the quality of Docs has gone down so much that my last pair only lasted four months till the heel split out I knew I needed to find a replacement. This pair has no steel toe, and pigskin lining for a double layer boot (not insulated, just two layers of leather) (the 9W that I sent back had the diagonal toe line across the top of the boot, and might have had steel toe but I can't be certain) McGuire, you should consider making separate listings for these boots as they are very different in appearance, but I wont ding you on the rating as they are both top quality. I was expecting a serious six month break-in time for these because of the stiff leather with the traditional wear them wet (as in soaked under the faucet inside and out) and wear them for the day and then let them dry, but I was pleasantly surprised that within a week they are breaking in nicely. The speed laces were an unexpected nice surprise too. I hope to get a good four to six years out of these at half the price of Docs (I wear them daily). I am ordering a second pair to use as my dress pair before they run out.
They are excellent quality, extremely well made.Very satisfied.
These are great boots, first rate quality hands down. The only thing you should be careful of is the fit. My regular shoe size is 10.5 so I ordered the same and hoped for the best. In hind sight I probably should have ordered at least a half size up. The problem is the tongue is sewed on extremely tight and you can't open the boot enough to get your foot in it. I had to struggle to get the boot on. Once on It fits my foot nicely (though again the tongue is too tight to fit an insert under my foot, this is important as it has a pretty hard sole and feel every step when walking on hard surfaces). I hope the leather will stretch or I may have to cut the seams on the tongue to give it a little more room. Regardless, great boots.
I needed to replace a pair of military boots that carried me through many life lessons and 25 years of service.
These are asb exact match. Fit like a glove. Here's to another 20 years. Thanks.
Seriously, these boots are the best I've ever owned.
