This genuine USMC improved bivy cover is part of the US Marine Corps Three Season Sleep System (3S). It is designed to cover the other sleeping bags in the system, making them waterproof and highly insulated.

These are brand new but have a rip in the mesh. This doesn't affect the waterproofing.

In warmer weather, this bivy cover can be used as a rain shelter and features a mesh above the head allowing the user to see out of the bag. The cover is 88” long and can be used with your own sleeping bags – it does not require the other bags in the system.

The bag material was clean and was without any marks, dirt, oil, or anything else that would soil the goretex. You cannot beat the price for a full gortex bivy. My bug net has an L-shaped tear at about 2" in both directions. I have not found a repair yet but I am confident that it can be fixed. Even with this minor imperfection, the bag is worth it.
