These are the M-65 helmet covers and were initially designed for the M1 helmets, also known as the “steel pots” they were made during the Vietnam Era. Its outer shell is made of Nylon Cotton, and its interior is Nylon Fleece. These insulating helmet liners can also be worn alone as a hat; they feature earflaps that protect your ears from frigid temperatures and can be fastened under or over the chin, at the back of the neck, or folded up around the top with a hook and loop closure.

  • Outer Shell: Nylon Cotton Interior: Nylon fleece lining
  • Forehead flap (protects sinus)
  • Hook and loop closure
  • Made in USA

Its forehead flap perfectly covers and protects your sinuses from the cold; they also feature slits on both sides, allowing the helmet chin straps to be attached below the chin. These cold-weather helmet liners are fully fleece-lined, making it easy to retain heat. These vintage helmet liners are dated 1976, and they are a great addition to military vintage collectors or anyone who enjoys the outdoors.

as advertised, no sign of use or damage

this liner is durable and has issue tags. i recommend buying slightly larger than usual

caveat: this is not the best choice for wet snow or arctic cold. it cannot compete with modern products. still, it should be fine for moderate activity above 10f chill factor.

A nice cold weather hat

This cap arrived in excellent used condition. It had been laundered after its service and was very clean. The former owner’s name and service number were seen into the inside on a tag. Excellent surplus cold weather hat.

Cold weather cap

It's exactly like the one I was issued in West Germany in the late 1970s. I plan on wearing it when the weather gets cold.
