Comfortable, Warm, Stylish… What else can you ask for? These Military Style M-65 fishtail Parkas feature a comfortable and roomy cut to allow layers of warm clothing to be worn underneath. The name "fishtail" comes from its original design since it is longer at the back than at the front; it can conveniently be tied around the upper legs for added wind and cold protection. The M-65 fishtail parkas feature a heavy-duty full-length front zipper and storm flap with snaps, two large angled front pockets with flaps and snap closures, drawstring waist, and hem, adjustable wrist button straps, and interior buttons that allows a fishtail parka liner to be attached (not included)

History of the M-65 Parka

Introduced to the US Army in the early '50s, the fishtail parka was used by American soldiers to cope with the freezing conditions during the Korean War. The M51 fishtail parka was replaced by its warmer and lighter version- the M-65 fishtail parka. In the '60s, the M-65 fishtail parka became a symbol of the mod subculture. Nowadays, although it has been replaced in the US military by the Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS), the fishtail parka remains one of the most popular and recognizable military parka models.

Great jacket, recommend you size down

Jacket came as pictured with no defects. If you don’t plan on purchasing the accompanying liner I recommend sizing down. Pockets are fleece-lined and offer excellent warmth for hands.

Jacket is remarkably wind resistant, and the cotton softens quickly with use. Worn with a mid layer, it will get me through New York’s winter season.
