N3B Extreme Cold Weather Parka
The Alpha N3B Snorkel Parka is a great way to stay warm and dry even in the harshest winter conditions. This coat is rated for sub-freezing weather, with a water-resistant nylon outer shell, an extremely warm poly-fiber fill insulation, and a faux fur lined hood with an adjustable draw cord. This Arctic Parka has a full-length storm flap, and inset knit cuffs for full storm protection.
- MA-1 utility pocket on sleeve and knit cuffs
- Hand warmer pockets and lower flap pockets
- Water resistant nylon shell rated for sub-freezing temperatures
- Storm flap covered zipper
- Made in the USA
Also known as a "Snorkel Parka" because of the synthetic fur-trimmed hood that zips up tight to minimize frostbite exposure. Combined with wind-blocking extra-long cut and channel quilted lining, this is a proven winner in extreme cold weather
This parka was originally developed for the Air Force in the 1950's for service members stationed at the most isolated polar research outposts. These Airmen were combating fierce chills, biting wind, and soul-sapping darkness.

I'm a 33 year veteran and I love my military issued parka. So I was looking for a second parka but I didn't want a used one, I wanted new. I found these on the McGuire website AND it comes in different colors!!! Well I had to try it out. I purchased the last parka and it was the "silver" --- I love it. The color isn't a bold or shiny silver; it has a soft sheen that's so unique that it has a slight mint green hue but it's hard to describe but it looks great! It's just as warm as my original military issue parka. I hope to get another parka in maroon when it's in stock. BTW, the parka looks "exactly" like my military issue parka BUT you can get it in other colors (not olive drab). You can't go wrong with this parka!!
Not that Everything Chinese is terrible but another vendor than Alpha Industries is not providing so warm a parka as the one shipped from McG's!
Excellent jacket bought as gift for my brother.
Ordered a Navy blue N38B parka unfortunately it was too big had to return it but thanks to great customer support it was a breeze ,waiting for the availability of my size and I will order again. Mcguires is my go to first supplier.
the parka is exactly what I was hoping for. The price was right, too. It's a little big, but I needed to be able to wear layers underneath. I look forward to trying it out when I go to Alaska in the spring- north of the Arctic circle! McGuire's was prompt, courteous, and the nursing discount was great, too! Thank you!
