Vintage 1970s Italian Military Issue Alpine Knickers
These Vintage Italian knickers from the 1970s remind us of that blockbuster film starring Julie Andrews “The sound of music” now you can have the real thing. These Italian Knickers extend just below the knees and were originally worn with tall wool socks by alpine ski troops. Built to high Italian military quality standards for years of use, lasting wash after wash.
These are sized for Europeans and might run slightly slimmer than US sizes.

My pants are so perfect but the size was a little smaller than expected. But otherwise they were spot on!
I'm 6'5" and I'm normally a 38/40 and the recommendation was to order up a size or two so I ordered pairs in 44 and 46. Both are exponentially too small. If I wore a size 6 dress the 44s would be perfect. That said the quality and fabric are of extremely high quality - stuff like this just isn't made any more. Sadly, I will be returning them.
I loved my Knickers in every way but one. The wool was thin and tough, the detailing at the lower leg opening was superb They didn't smell like mothballs or any chemicals at all. The single thing and it was not one I could accommodate was the fact the 34 fit like a 31 on my American physique. I know that Italian made products tend to run small, so I wasn't shocked. McGuire provided great service in facilitating the return.
