I bought these for my girlfriend. We are both avid hikers no matter the weather. Typical Wellco quality. She says they are comfortable, light and a perfect fit. I got these because she was tired of junky overpriced outdoor store boots. Once you wear real military boots you cant go back. The soles are good as is the goretex bootie. These are modern enough to not have the treacherous vibram Klerterlift sole I wore on my old ICB's and thats a good thing. Even though I personally prefer all leather to leather/cordura these are incredible.
After nearly a month of having these Army Temperate Weather Boots, it's time for a review.
I am very well pleased! These boots are just what I was looking for - lightweight, tough, and waterproof.
I especially like this boot because they are waterproof (Gore-tex). After a recent heavy rainstorm, I stood in a deep puddle for several minutes and my feet stayed dry. I've had other boots that CLAIM to be waterproof but weren't. That's not the case with these Wellco boots, they deliver. I do a lot of walking and these boots are my primary footwear at the moment. I have no doubts that they will last for a good long while.
And before I end this review, I have to say the price was more than reasonable. The shipping was free and they still got to me quickly. I look forward to ordering from McGuire Army Navy again, in the not too distant future.
