This GI Snare wire, also known as a trip wire, was issued during the Vietnam Era. The snare/trip wire was intended to cause an intruder to trip over it, triggering a mechanism that will activate an alarm. Military personnel, police, and hunters have used trip wires for many years for survival purposes. These spools of trip wire are multipurpose and can be used for many applications like perimeter security alarms, fishing lines, animal trapping, medical emergencies, equipment repair, or securing gear. These snare wires are made of 100% stainless steel; the wooden spool measures 2 ¾" x 1 ¼" total length between the four sections is 160'.
