The jungle hot weather combat boot was originated by Wellco. As early as the 1950s, Wellco began the task of manufacturing a jungle boot with Direct Molded Sole (DMS) construction which is suited for military combat boots. The jungle boot has been able to withstand years of wear & tear in cruel environments, and over the years, has protected the feet of millions who protect and serve.

Great boots, but beware of spike plate!

These are great boots, just like the pair I had some years back. I bought the OD green model and it seems to be patterned very closely on the final version of the Vietnam era Jungle Boots. Beware that this means that there are ups and downs to these boots. Arch support is good, but not great. They're light weight and very well ventilated. However they have little to no ankle support. My biggest complaint about these, though, is that they have the stainless steel spike protection plate in them. That usually isn't found on most modern commercial ones, and makes them feel pretty darn stiff when you walk. No idea if the black ones have the spike plate or not.

Jungle boots are great!

Great value and great boots. The only issue I had was the shoe laces were not long enough but I was replacing them with 550 para cord anyway so no big deal!
