Vintage WWII Honorable Discharge Patch — 2 Pack

Embroidered in yellow-gold on khaki with the official Honorable Discharge Emblem, these vintage patches date back to 1945. It simply and reverently represents one of the noble military awards in history.

The emblem featured is also called “the ruptured duck.” These patches were originally sewn onto the clothing of World War II military personnel before being discharged from any of the four military branches. They were also legally permitted to wear it on their civilian clothing. Even more interestingly, they were also unofficially worn by civilians on military apparel after the war. This was due the shortage of civilian clothing from cloth rationing and the focus of many American clothing manufacturers being redirected to supplying the troops.
