You will never be left out in the cold with our McGuire Gear Camping Survival Military Blanket! Whether you find yourself outside for a few hours or for a few days, this blanket will make the perfect addition to your gear.

  • 80 % Wool/20% Man-Made Fibers
  • 64 inches x 90 inches
  • Fire Retardant

Ideal for outdoor expeditions, this wool-blend blanket will help you to brave the chillier elements while leaving you in a state of utter coziness. Modeled after the heavy-duty blankets used in the US military, it acts as an excellent layering blanket or a blanket to use all on its own. The wool blend fabric is both soft and sturdy, trapping the heat you need to stay comfortable and warm. This blanket is not only fire retardant, but moisture-wicking, and mold-resistant, too.

Excellent Blanket

I wasn’t sure how heavy this blanket would really be for the price and no shipping cost so I took a chance on one. I have since ordered 4 more for a total of 5. I wanted to put two in each car for the winter and my wife decided she wanted a bunkhouse blanket for the sofa. The bunkhouse are the same with patterns instead of a solid color.

There seems to be two common weights of wool blankets online. This and others that anre about half the weight for similar dimensions. These blankets weight about 4.25 lbs each. Wool is hair which can gain or loose weight with changes in humidity so only take this as an approximation for comparing other brands.

I have aired out the blankets and they have very little “wool smell”. I am keeping the trunk blankets in vacuum storage bags used for sweaters to prevent possible moths and to guarantee they will be dry in an emergency.
